What do you get, when you take one of the
finest educational organizations, add in one
professional catering company and toss it with
a large amount of guests? You get a memorable
event at the new Bridgepoint Education’s Head-
quarters, for 400 guests, created by The Abbey
Catering & Event Design Co. The goal, to bring
a contemporary, modern yet eclectic feel to this
get together. Guests mingled while The Abbey
staff tray passed wine in addition to the three
open bars to accommodate beverages for all.
Prepared fresh onsite, the guests enjoyed a
variety of gourmet appetizers and desserts.
A fig-chevre Lindsor tarlette, chilled asparagus
soup shooters with crispy onions, and Ahi poke
presented atop a rock salt presentation, were
just a few of the items served throughout
the event. Delectable petits fours and freshly
brewed Sicilian coffee were the grand finale
to the menu. Being able to provide a uniquely
customized menu accompanied by a very
modern design was a great source of pride for
entire The Abbey Team.
Let us bring this to your next party as well.

An Out of the Ordinary Day for an Inspiring Couple

Saturday was a very special day in San Marcos. The
Abbey Catering & Event Design pulled out their very best for
the bride and groom at Old Richland Schoolhouse where their
wedding ceremony and reception took place. The Abbey’s All-
Inclusive package was absolutely exquisite. We provided
the cake, coordinator, flowers, limo, staff, videographer,
photographer, linens, and the honeymoon in The Abbey
At the reception, the tray-passed appetizers more than
pleased all of the 180 guests. Delicious appetizers like Filet
Wellington, coconut-crusted golden shrimp, as well as
others, were sure fire crowd pleasers. That was followed
by the wonderful seated salad and last but not least, the
presented dual entree of Chicken Cordon Bleu and Black
Angus New York Strip that was carved for each guest.
After seeing how elated our stunning couple was during
and after this joyous occasion, we at The Abbey are
immensely proud in knowing that we were able to take
part and provide for this phenomenal day!

What a true pleasure it was to be a part of Kevin and Maggie’s day. Everything came together beautifully. The top notch efforts in the kitchen from Chef John and Chef Matt yielded a selection of appetizers that tantalized the guests taste buds. A grand entrance, choreographed by Kevin and Maggie, set the tone for an evening of good times shared by loved ones coming to celebrate a very special day. Our Abbey team came together perfectly to deliver a dinner service boasting our signature Salmon-En-Croute and Chianti Braised Black Angus Superior Beef . Babycakes dazzled again with another confectionery masterpiece. After dinner, the music was peppered with guests joining in to sing and regale the crowd with songs dedicated to our bride and groom. A perfect day, one I was honored to be a part of. To learn more about the beautiful location Kevin and Maggie celebrated at, click here to get in touch with an venue specialist.

A beautiful day in La Jolla set the tone for one very special couple Kathy & Bob. The table settings were immaculate and the cake was a work of art. Appetizers flowed from the kitchen as guests mingled in the courtyard awaiting the arrival of our Bride and Groom. Bob was dashing in his tuxedo and Kathy was a vision of perfection. The music kicked up and dinner service started. Our chefs knocked another one out of the park with a spectacular presentation at the buffet. Our team came together to wow and amaze yet again. Best wishes Bob and Kathy on a life filled with love and happiness. To find out more about the La Jolla Woman’s Club Venue or any other San Diego site, start you journey here.

There’s no higher compliment for us here at The
Abbey than to see the smiles on a bride and
groom’s face at the end of an evening. Second
only would be the smiles on the faces of their
guests. We were honored to provide those
smiles to Maggie and Kevin at their wedding at
the La Jolla Woman’s Club. They had one goal,
that everyone have a great time.
“Rob–thanks for all your help–you were 100% on
top of things and virtually EVERYONE said they
had a great time. Everything looked classy,
efficient, tasty (food and desert was great) and
the staff was very friendly — you and Rob,
held true to your promise that it’ll be a night to
remember. Maggie and I had only one desire and
that was for all in attendance to have a great
time, bond, re-connect, establish new
friendships, and for one night, forget about
life’s uncertainties, disappointments and
stress – from the feedback we received,
I think you were highly responsible for
accomplishing all of that!-thanks again .”
– Best, Kevin
From the elegant cake, provided by
Baby Cakes, to the most delicious cuisine,
the evening was a complete success.
Truly, a picture is worth a 1,000 words,
especially with Julie Buchta Davis taking
those pictures.

It is always magical to witness two people deep in love. This Sunday, April 24th was no exception. This wedding held for 250 guests took in the pristine and beautiful Coronado Community Center. This full package wedding provided by The Abbey was exceptional, especially the flowers, beautiful pink roses, pink tulips with white lilies complemented silver and aqua satin linens with white pin tuck napkins. Within twenty nine minutes a full sit down dinner was accommodated for all guests. Unique party favors consisted of chocolate covered fortune cookies, and brought a lovely touch to this celebration. The up lighting throughout the hall gave this couple a wedding of distinction and original feel of elegance and class.
