Dancing into the Night amid Crashing Waves and Twinkle Lights

Guests from near and far gathered at the Ocean View Villas to celebrate the fantastic union of Jennifer and Joe.

The couple perched under a rose covered trellis at the tip of Sunset Cliffs in San Diego as they exchanged hopes and promises among friends and family as waves from the Pacific Ocean crashed in celebration.

Giddy from the union of their most loved and cherished,  guests were greeted after the ceremony with an open bar and savory chef’s creations as the polished and professional servers tray-passed appetizers and champagne.   As part of the package the couple selected, guests were privileged to enjoy two refreshing signature drinks- white sangria and pink cosmos- a perfect representation of these west coast transplants!

As the sun began to set, guests enjoyed The Abbey Catering signature salad, artisan rolls, and a dual entree selected from the tasting menu provided and with the guidance of skilled wedding coordinator, Petr Trebin.

Surrounded by friends and family, the bride and groom danced the night away with hands in the air under glowing lanterns, crashing waves and a fragrant sea breeze.  Many of these magical moments were expertly captured by the great photographers of Narrative Images here in San Diego.

The Abbey Catering encourages creativity!  As an homage to their East Coast roots, the couple ended the night with a hot-dog stand and bonfire- complete with all the fixin’s, including the well-received s’mores!

Last nights Escondido Chamber Mixer at the Bernardo Winery was such a success! Thank you all in attendance for ensuring a great time. A special thank you to all of the vendors that donated their time and energies to assist with the evenings festivities. The raffle went over very well and our MC & ladies of Escondido did a fantastic job entertaining the crowd! Great wine, good food, and like minded business people networking in the heart of Rancho Bernardo on another picture perfect San Diego night. What more could we hope for?

A floral archway frames the ocean view

Another venue that we hold in very high regard is the beautiful Ocean View Villas in Point Loma. This was where our sea inspired ceremony and reception took place on Saturday, August 28th. The bride and groom rented out the entire villa with views overlooking sunset cliffs and their own luxurious beach. The beautiful flowers with vibrant colors were designed by ArtQuest . DJ Randy kept the dance floor full and the guests were surely entertained by being able to make their own requests all night long! As a part of the Abbey package we also provided beautiful Aqua Dupioni and Champagne crush linens that drew everyone’s attention to the alluring tables. Throughout the entire evening the very trendy Euro-coffee bar was available, serving Cappuccinos, lattes, espressos, hot chocolate, or anything else that the guests’ hearts could desire. The sea inspired cake that was decorated with seashells, corals, and Orchids was designed by Flour Power. Tareq Zaatari, the videographer made sure to capture all of the wonderful moments and included special comments and messages from all of the 120 guests. The photography done by Narrative Images will be sure to provide everlasting memories for many years to come of this astonishing seaside wedding.

Romance in San Diego Botanical Gardens

Rushing waterfalls, blooming scenery and lush bamboo groves set the scene for the exotic wedding ceremony  at San Diego Botanical Gardens. The bride, groom and their 200 close friends and family got to share this beautiful occasion in a breathtaking setting. Tucked away into corners of the gardens were romantic details; pictures of the happy couple throughout their courtship, a photo printing station so that guests received instant memories of the special day and a sign-in book where they wished the loved-up pair future happiness. The all-inclusive package meant a stress free day for the bride and groom and allow them to focus, enjoy, and relish their special day. This striking jewel-toned themed wedding was highlighted by a gourmet 3 tiered cake from Baby Cakes, classic hairstyles and flawless make-up by Leland, the talented and trained eye of videographer Tareq, skilled creative photographer Deb Shields, and extraordinary flowers by Artquest Florist. Wine from the family vineyard made the day even more memorable and beautifully complimented the Mediterranean styled dinner prepared by highly trained Abbey Catering chefs. Family and friends rounded off the evening dancing under the stars to the sounds of the Matt Yeakley band and DJ Alex Trumbo. Everyone was left aglow with the magic of the evening and memories that will last a lifetime.

As long-time friends embraced amidst the Lavender Star Flowers and Jerusalem Sage, champagne and home-made wine flowed freely from the bamboo bar in the Herb Garden during cocktail hour.  Eggplant Fritters, home-made hummus on warmed pita and Coconut Crusted Golden Shrimp tickled the taste-buds of elated guests as they strolled arm-in-arm down dirt and cobbled paths of the San Diego Botanical Gardens.

Last Saturday, as the coastal haze provided a welcomed break from the afternoon sun, Jennifer and Johnathan celebrated with 175 of their closest friends and family in the simply breathtaking surroundings.

To an onlooker, it was as if this dinner reception took place in The Secret Garden.  Light-blue twinkle lights accented the garden at sunset as guests indulged in citrus marinated chicken (in a white-wine beurre blanc), Chianti-braised Black Angus Beef, citrus-infused Basmati rice with bay leaves and perfectly sauteed seasonal veggies.

After dinner, tables were cleared and guests boogied the night away to hip and modern mixes spun by the bride and groom’s chosen DJ, occasionally taking a break to enjoy the home-made cookies provided by the bride and groom or a slice (or two) of the 3 tiered red velvet and blood orange wedding cake.
